Residents were evacuated from an apartment complex east of the Strip because of strong fumes coming from one unit, according to Metro Police.
Officers were responding to an unknown trouble call about 5 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Sierra Vista Drive when they noticed the fumes, police said. Apartments in the area were being evacuated as officers investigated, police said.
Sierra Vista was closed in both directions between Paradise Road and Swenson Street. People were asked to avoid the area.
