Andrew Juarez’s last-second 32-yard field goal lifted the Mojave High football team to a 16-14 win against visiting Eldorado in the Northeast League opener.

Eldorado took the lead with four minutes remaining, but Mojave was able to get into field goal range for Juarez. The junior calmly did the rest.

“He has been on the money,” Mojave coach Abraham Gonzalez said. “I knew it was going to go in.”

De’vann Underwood had two rushing touchdowns for Mojave and more than 100 rushing yards.

“Our kids kept composed and handled the pressure,” Gonzalez said. “It showed me the kids know how to finish a game.”
