It took some time for Green Valley to get going Friday night. But once the Gators got it together, they were hard to stop.

Green Valley scored 25 second-half points to pull away from Durango and the defense shut down the Trailblazers in a 39-3 win.

Zan Maningo was a force on defense for the Gators, recording three sacks and forcing a fumble. Stetler Harms, Andrew Vazquez and CJ Hodgdon all had interceptions for Green Valley.

Garrett Castro got Green Valley's offense going with a 4-yard touchdown run, which opened the door for Noah Hawthorne to run in two scores and Brady Clayton to score once.

The win brings Green Valley to 2-0 on the year with a tough nonleague game against Moapa Valley waiting next week.
