The Sierra Vista High football team was on the wrong end of a lopsided 56-7 defeat Friday at Skyridge of Utah. While the result doesn’t necessarily look good on paper, coach Tavita Seloti knows his team got better.

Skyridge is a top-5 ranked team in Utah. It has many veteran players. Sierra Vista, meanwhile, has many underclassmen.

“We are young and learning,” Seloti said. “But we competed. We got better.”

Last week, Sierra Vista lost 35-0 to Centennial. This week, they moved the ball better, and scored their initial points of the season on a 30-yard run from Tavita Seloti Jr.
