Mon, Dec 9, 2019 (1:46 p.m.)

Two juveniles have been arrested in the death of a man shot last month after meeting a teen for a drug deal, according to Metro Police.

Officers were dispatched about 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 22 to the 8000 block of Mesa Vista Avenue to investigate reports of gunfire, police said. They found a man in the street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

The man was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, police said.

Investigators determined the victim and the teen met for a narcotics transaction, police said. During the exchange, they both pulled out handguns and the juvenile fired several rounds, striking the victim, police said.

The teen fled in a black sedan driven by a second juvenile, police said. The second juvenile’s age was not listed.

Both juveniles were arrested on a count of open murder and conspiracy to commit murder, police said.

No names were released.

The Clark County Coroner’s office will release the victim’s name.
