Police: Man says he was shot at his home

A homeowner said he was shot by two men who entered his home this morning before he returned fire, sending them fleeing, according to Metro Police.

Metro dispatchers received a call about 9:45 a.m. reporting a possible home invasion in the 9200 block of Starcross Lane, near Spring Mountain and Fort Apache roads, police said. The homeowner said he had been shot and that he fired toward the men, according to police.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center, police said. Information on his condition was not released.

About 10 minutes later, dispatchers received a report that two men suffering from gunshot wounds had been dropped off at Southern Hills Hospital, police said. Both men were in critical condition, police said.

Police said it has not been determined if the two incidents are related.
