After a SWAT standoff, a suspect was arrested Monday in the slaying of a man who was shot in the back last month in the southeast valley, according to Metro Police.

Ronald Beattie, 39, eventually surrendered to a task force that tracked him to a neighborhood in the 2200 block of Diamond Pointe Street, near Nellis Boulevard and Carey Avenue, police said.

Beattie is accused of shooting Lorenzo Price during an argument about 9:40 a.m. on April 27, police said. Price, 39, ran wounded to a parking lot in the 5400 block of East Harmon Avenue and died later at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

Police said they called in SWAT and crisis negotiators Monday after Beattie refused to come out of a house.

Beattie was being held at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of murder.
