Tofa Wilson had five sacks, three forced fumbles and a blocked punt for the Foothill football team in a 29-14 win against Coronado.

Kendric Thomas had a 25-yard touchdown reception from Koy Riggin, and Jakob Petry had a pair of rushing touchdowns.

“Overall, we played pretty good. We were solid,” Foothill coach Vernon Brown said. “Coronado is a good team. They are on the rise. They are well coached.”

Vyron Rosquist Wallace had a 35-yard fumble return for a touchdown and an interception. He also scored a defensive touchdown last week.

Foothill improves to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Southeast League. The schedule gets hard next week, as the Falcons face perennial power Liberty. Liberty won 59-0 on Thursday against Green Valley.

“We’ve got our work laid out for us,” Brown said. “Typical Liberty: Great skilled guys, aggressive on the line. We’ll have to be ready to go.”
