A person was found dead after firefighters extinguished a blaze at an east Las Vegas house Saturday afternoon, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The fire was reported about 12:40 p.m. in the 2600 block of Heritage Drive, near Sahara Avenue and Mojave Road.

Crews found heavy flames and smoke billowing from the structure, officials said.

Firefighters found a body inside after the fire was put out 35 minutes after the 911 calls, officials said.
