Police: Jail inmate accused of strangling death of cellmate

A Clark County Detention Center inmate jailed in an attempted murder case is accused of fatally injuring his cellmate during a fight, according to Metro Police.

Blancy Yonko, 59,  died Tuesday from strangulation at University Medical Center, accordign to police and the Clark County Coroner’s Office. 

Steven Revell, 39, who was booked a week earlier on counts of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon and illegal drug possession, is now also facing a count of murder, police said. 

Officers conducting a walk-through found Yonko unconscious on the floor of the cell, police said. He was taken to UMC in critical condition.
