Thu, Jan 9, 2020 (6:22 p.m.)

A pedestrian struck by a car outside a crosswalk Wednesday evening on a southeast valley road has died, according to Metro Police.

Police said they were informed Thursday that the 73-year-old man died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

A BMW 3 Series sedan was traveling south on Pecos Road when it struck a man near the Tropicana Avenue intersection about 6 p.m., said police, adding that the victim was crossing outside a designated area.

The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said. The motorist was not impaired and remained at the scene.

This is the second death investigated by Metro’s unit that investigates traffic fatalities, which didn’t respond to the scene Wednesday.
