I was appreciative of Brian Greenspun’s column, “America could use a good night’s sleep,” in the Jan. 12 edition of the Sun.
All Americans will be able to rest more comfortably when the country has someone in the White House who comprehends the meaning of “constitutional, democratic, government,” who respects long-standing cultural and institutional norms, and who pays deference to the idea that in our society, no one is above the law, not even the president.
Most hard-working, patriotic Americans will not sleep without deep fear until we also have political leaders who put patriotism above ideology, self-interest or economic gain.
