Las Vegas woman, 42, dies in head-on crash on Strip

A woman was pronounced dead and two people were injured after a head-on crash early today on the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.

The crash happened about 1:30 a.m. just south of Warm Springs Road, police said. A BMW headed south on the Strip hit a guardrail, crossed into the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into an SUV, police said. The SUV then collided with another car, police said.

The driver of the BMW, a 42-year-old Las Vegas woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her name was not released pending notification of her family.

The driver of the SUV, a 70-year-old Las Vegas man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Medical Center, police said. The driver of the other vehicle, a 30-year-old man also from Las Vegas, suffered minor injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
