A man who reported finding a deceased 17-year-old girl in a sewer has been arrested on a count of murder in her death, according to Metro Police.

Officers were dispatched about 12:25 p.m. Sunday to the 2100 block of Fred Brown Drive to investigate the report, police said.

They contacted the caller, Jayshawn Bailey, 22, who directed them to a manhole cover, police said. The victim, identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as Tamyah Trotter, had been reported missing on Dec. 14, police said.

Through investigation, detectives identified Bailey as a suspect in the case, police said. He was arrested Tuesday and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of open murder, police said.

Trotter's cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, the Coroner's Office said.
