LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

How many lives did vanity cost?

Wed, Jul 22, 2020 (2 a.m.)

What a joke. Our illustrious leader finally wore a mask in public and then declared, “I love masks.”

After months, while COVID-19 killed Americans by the tens of thousands and the medical community begged people to wear masks, the president vainly refused to do so, setting an example for his minions to follow.

The number of deaths from the virus is approaching 140,000. It begs the question of how many of these people died needlessly. How many of our friends and family would be alive today if, back in early February, the president would have stood tall, put on a face mask, urged people to shelter in place and practice social distancing?

His mixed messaging and failed leadership has been just as lethal as the virus.
