Clark County seeks public input on master plan

Clark County officials are asking for public input as they rewrite the master plan and development code, two key documents that will guide how tax dollars are spent.

The updated plan should be finished next summer, and the county will adopt changes to the development code in late 2022, officials said.

“We need a clear vision for making our community more livable and sustainable,” Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones said in a statement. “For that reason, public input is critical so that we can come to a shared understanding of the kind of community we want today, tomorrow and for future generations,” he said.

The county will also seek input from citizen advisory groups, the arts community, business owners, unions, and police and fire departments.

Clark County residents can complete a survey at TransformClarkCounty.com on issues such as housing, recreation and transportation and recommend improvements.

“We all want to see our community quality of life improve,” Commission Chairwoman Marilyn Kirkpatrick said in a statement.. “The work that goes into this roadmap for the future will help get us there.”

This is the first full update to the master plan since 1983.
