LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

It’s time to stop Nevada’s caucus

Mon, Mar 2, 2020 (2 a.m.)

I voted early voted and it was a relatively pleasant experience, given the comments made earlier in the news. We were at Palo Verde High School and while it took about three hours, it was well managed and everyone there was friendly and interesting.

However, a primary is a better way for Nevada to vote for a presidential nomination. The process is smoother and there are much greater venues that enable people to cast their vote at any time of day.

Instead of a political party financing the voting, it would be paid from public funds. That means it would have to be part of the state budget. Resident non-citizens would be paying for it through their taxes.
