Employees at a Clark County Department of Family Services facility were working remotely after a colleague tested positive for the coronavirus and another had a potential high-risk of exposure to the virus, a county spokesman said.

The infected employee was hospitalized in unknown condition, while the second person was ordered to self-quarantine at home, spokesman Erik Pappa said in a statement.

“Neither employee came in contact with children or families that interact with the department,” Pappa said.

It wasn’t clear which of the five department facilities the employees work at. All facilities were closed to the public starting Wednesday.

The affected facility was ordered to be sanitized by a professional crew before limited staff returns to do “essential functions.”

The 24/7 child abuse and neglect hotline at 702-399-0081 is still operational.
