With crowds looking like a thing of the past (at least for now), UNLV football is attempting to bring the tailgating experience to the fans with a social media cooking contest.
UNLV football is asking Rebels fans to prepare their signature meals on camera, then submit the videos to the team’s social media account in an effort to find the best dish.
The contest was supposed to be held in person at the spring football game, but the COVID-19 outbreak forced the cancelation of that event.
Videos must be shorter than five minutes, and contestants are encouraged to get creative. Judging will be based on presentation, ingredients and overall recipe.
Videos must be submitted on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook by May 22. Fans should tag @UNLVFootbal and use the hashtag #HeyREBLetsCook to make sure their entry is accepted.
The winner will receive a tailgate spot and two premium seats to a UNLV football game at Allegiant Stadium this season. Second place will get two tickets to a UNLV home game, while third place will receive Rebels apparel.
