Four-star forward Arthur Kaluma committed to UNLV on Thursday, joining a loaded incoming 2021 class that could vault the scarlet and gray back to prominence in short order.

Kaluma made the announcement via a video posted to his Twitter page. At the end of the clip, Kaluma opens his windbreaker to reveal a UNLV shirt:

Kaluma’s recruitment was a whirlwind, from UNLV’s perspective. They jumped in relatively late in the process and gained traction through Kaluma’s good friend, Bishop Gorman point guard Zaon Collins. When Collins committed to UNLV in August, UNLV’s chances of landing Kaluma went up exponentially.

Kaluma is rated as the No. 39 player in the country by 247Sports. At 6-foot-8, he can score in the paint, run the floor and rebound well for his position. He has also flashed a promising jump shot.

Along with Kaluma and Collins (the No. 36 player in the nation), UNLV will also bring in 2021 guard Keshon Gilbert, who is rated as a 3-star recruit by 247Sports. It is a lock to be the best recruiting class in the Mountain West and possibly one of the strongest in the country.

Kaluma is a Texas native who is playing his high school ball at Dream City Academy in Arizona. He chose UNLV over offers from Kansas, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Arkansas and USC.
