A man was shot and killed today at the vacuum service area of a Las Vegas car wash, according to Metro Police.

The bullets, which exploded into his car, missed his wife who was sitting next to him on the passenger’s side, Lt. Ray Spencer said.

The victim had been vacuuming his vehicle, and sometime after he entered the car, a vehicle pulled up and at least one shooter fired multiple rounds, Spencer said.

Officers and medics responded to the establishment in the 5500 block of Charleston Boulevard, near Decatur Boulevard, about 2 p.m., Spencer said.

The victim died from multiple gunshot wounds at University Medical Center, Spencer said.

Detectives were under the assumption that the shooting was not random and that the victim and person or persons who shot him knew each other, Spencer said.

Police were interviewing about a dozen witnesses and canvassing the area for surveillance footage, Spencer said. He wasn’t ready this afternoon to release a vehicle description for a possible suspect.

The victim was only described as a Hispanic man in his early 40s.

Spencer implored anyone who may have witnessed anything to come forward.
