A bad drug deal led to a shootout between the suspected dealer and buyer on the Las Vegas Strip this afternoon, according to Metro Police.

One of the men, who remained at the scene, had survivable gunshot injuries, said Lt. Ken Nogle, citing a preliminary investigation.

Gunshots rang out shortly after noon in the parking lot of the Tropicana, 3801 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Nogle said.

Nogle said the other man was gone when officers arrived, and it wasn’t clear if he was also injured.

The two men had met at the parking lot for a drug deal, although it wasn’t clear if the injured man was the alleged seller or buyer, Nogle said.

He said it was too early in the investigation to determine what, if any, charges the man could face.

Additional details were not immediately available.
