Police: Las Vegas man, 50, killed after car runs red light

A Las Vegas man was killed Monday night when a car ran a red light and collided with the pickup truck he was driving, according to Metro Police.

The crash happened about 11 p.m. at Charleston and Rampart boulevards, police said.

A car headed west on Charleston ran a red light and collided with the pickup, which was making a left turn onto Rampart, police said. The truck had a green light, police said.

The driver of the pickup, a 50-year-old Las Vegas man, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His name was not released, pending notification of his family.

The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man from Virginia, was taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries, police said. He was in stable condition, police said.

The crash was under investigation, police said.
