Police: Shooting suspect fatally shot after pulling gun

Detectives investigating an earlier shooting fatally shot a convenience store employee after he pulled a gun from his waistband, Metro Police said today.

The store employee killed Tuesday night was a suspect in the earlier shooting Tuesday, police said in a statement.

The detectives encountered the employee in the store in the 2500 block of North Pecos Road and gave him commands that he initially obeyed before he turned and pulled out the gun, the statement said.

No details were provided about the earlier shooting, and no identities of those involved in the fatal shooting at the store were released.
