Metro Police on Wednesday released further details from a fatal multi-vehicle crash last month involving four people — killing one and injuring another — although the person killed in the crash was not named.

Police said in a news release that a 53-year-old Las Vegas woman driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata was killed after sustaining injuries during a July 7 collision that occurred at the intersection of Pecos Road and Harmon Avenue.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated the Sonata was traveling west on Harmon approaching a red light on Pecos, according to the release. A marked Metro patrol vehicle was traveling south on Pecos, approaching a green light. A 2014 Ford Fusion was also traveling east on Harmon and was approaching the red light at Pecos.

The Hyundai failed to stop for the red light, entered the intersection, and collided with the patrol vehicle and Ford Fusion before coming to a stop, according to the release. Eduardo Dominguez Salazar, 35, of Las Vegas, and Jesua Sadivar, 39, also of Las Vegas, were identified as the occupants of the Fusion, according to the release. Neither reported injuries.

Arriving medical personnel transported the driver of the Hyundai and the officer to University Medical Center, police said. The Hyundai’s driver was admitted and the officer, identified in the release as Veronica Arzate, 31, was treated for minor injuries.

The Clark County Coroner's Office advised Metro on July 27 that the driver of the Hyundai had died from her injuries. Upon conclusion of the coroner's findings, the Hyundai driver’s death was counted as the 76th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year, according to the release.

The collision remains under investigation.
