Senior quarterback Gavin Brown completed 8 of 10 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns Friday night in leading the visiting Virgin Valley football team to a 46-0 win against Del Sol.
Brown also rushed for a touchdown, while Peanut Workman carried the ball six times for 60 yards and a score.
“That was a good way to start the season, for sure,” Bulldogs coach Matt Woods said.
Ashten Roman had a pair of long receptions for Virgin Valley, and Jimmy Kelly added a rushing touchdown.
All in all, it was a strong effort for a program expected to compete for a class 3A state championship.
“Definitely pleased with the way we came out and played,” Woods said.
