Officers responding to reports of gunshots Thursday night found a gravely wounded person in an east Las Vegas parking lot, according to Metro Police.

The victim died at an area hospital, and no arrests had been made as of late Thursday, Metro Lt. Richard Meyers said.

A 911 caller and a police gunshot detection system led officers about 6:45 p.m. to the 4700 block of East Charleston Boulevard, east of Lamb Boulevard, Meyers said.

The male victim was found on the ground, and witnesses reported seeing a man run from the scene after the shooting, Meyers said.

The investigation was in its preliminary stages and additional information wasn’t immediately available, Meyers said.
