On Jan. 7, the speaker of the House and the new majority leader of the Senate attempted to ask that the 25th Amendment be invoked, with a call to the vice president. The result was a refusal by the vice president to take the call and two Cabinet member resignations.
It is clear that the vice president and these Cabinet heads should never hold public office again. I call them cowards. It is clear that the president is guilty of attempted insurrection, an attempt that resulted in the deaths of at least five people and injuries to several other police officers. Removal by the vice president and a majority vote by the Cabinet would prevent Donald Trump from doing further damage to this country.
