Fire destroyed a vacant building Tuesday near the Strat, causing an estimated $1 million in damage, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials said.

Nobody was injured, and the cause of the fire was under investigation, officials said.

The fire was reported about 5:25 p.m. at a boarded-up, single-story building in the 1400 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South, officials said.

Up to 70 firefighters battled the blaze, with assistance from the Clark County and North Las Vegas fire departments.

Las Vegas Boulevard was closed overnight in the area.
