Woman critically injured after crashing into parked car

A 53-year-old woman who ran a stop sign suffered life-threatening injuries this morning in a crash in south Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.

The crash was reported about 10 a.m. in the 8900 block of Bermuda Road, near Serene Avenue, police said.

The woman was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, the woman was headed east in a 2019 Dodge Charger “at a high rate of speed” when she ran a stop sign and hit a parked car at the entrance of an apartment complex, police said. Nobody was in the other car, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
