Rainstorms were cooling down the Las Vegas Valley this afternoon, with a thunderstorm reported at McCarran International Airport, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued a flood advisory for Henderson and the Green Valley area until 4 p.m.

Heavy rain and gusty winds stretched form Indian Springs to Searchlight, meteorologist Brian Planz said.

The rain was expected to stick around this afternoon before tapering off this evening, Planz said. The stormy weather was accompanied by cooler temperatures, with a high of 87 degrees at McCarran today, the weather service reported.

After the clouds clear, Southern Nevada will see the return of warmer temperatures, with highs of 101 Friday, 106 Saturday and 108 Sunday.
