Foothill’s Kendric Thomas had two touchdowns tonight and the Falcons’ defense forced five turnovers in a 31-0 victory at Canyon Springs.

Foothill, playing in its fifth game of the season because of COVID cancellations, improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Desert League. Next week, the Falcons host perennial power Bishop Gorman for the league title in the regular season finale.

“We will be ready to play. We will be up to the challenge,” Foothill coach Vernon Brown said.

Cameron Paul passed for three touchdowns to lead the Falcons, including a 20-yard screen pass to Thomas to open the scoring. Thomas also scored on a 15-yard run.

Michael Gazzana had a touchdown reception and also scored on a punt return, and Parker Beckwith caught a touchdown pass. Now comes another challenge: duplicating the effort against Gorman, which hasn’t been scored on in four league games.

“We have to execute and do our job,” Brown said.
