Virgin Valley eliminates Eldorado, 52-12

Thu, Oct 28, 2021 (10:20 p.m.)

Gavin Brown passed for 320 yards and six touchdowns today for the Virgin Valley football team in a 52-12 playoff win over visiting Eldorado.

The Bulldogs welcomed back a pair of two-way starters — Ashten Roman and Cutler Crandall — who had been out with injury since the beginning of the season, and both had a receiving touchdown.

Coach Matt Woods said the plan was to focus on the passing game to help the duo “get back into football shape.”

Roman finished with four catches for 80 yards and Crandall had a 30-yard scoring reception.

Jimmy Kelly led Virgin Valley with five catches for 131 yards and three touchdowns, and Kellen Dugan rushed nine times for 90 yards and a touchdown. Benson Leavitt also had a receiving touchdown.

Virgin Valley advances to play Pahrump next week — the fourth time it’s played at Pahrump in the last year.

“They are big and physical,” Woods said. “If we want a chance to win, we have to match their physicality.”
