Virgin Valley survives Boulder City’s second-half rally

The Virgin Valley football team held off a second-half push by Boulder City tonight for a 34-28 victory.

The Bulldogs led 28-7 at halftime, but “couldn’t execute in the second half,” coach Matt Woods said. Virgin Valley had three fumbles in the second half and a muffed punt.

Ethan Workman carried the ball nine times for 70 yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Gavin Brown completed 15 of 20 passes for 298 yards. Benson Leavitt had a pair of touchdown receptions and 155 receiving yards.
