OPINION:

Pick a time and be done with it

Fri, Apr 15, 2022 (2 a.m.)

Everyone is tired of changing time twice a year; being late half the time and early the other half. The Senate, taking matters into its own hands, has determined that Daylight Savings Time should be the time.

Given the state of Washington affairs, the House will probably weigh in for Standard Time. The two sides can probably pursue the argument for a least 10 years while maintaining a steady paycheck.

It’s not standard protocol in Washington, but a good compromise could take place next fall by falling back a half-hour and calling it permanent. No one would be the big winner, but no one would be a complete loser. And we would not have to go through the hassle of changing our schedules twice a year.
