Person in custody after standoff with Las Vegas police

A person was taken into custody today after a standoff with officers responding to a possible burglary in the northeast valley, according to Metro Police.

The barricade situation unfolded about 11:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of Silver Bow Drive, near Las Vegas Boulevard North and Lamb Boulevard, police said.

Officers located a possible suspect armed with a handgun, police said. The person went into a home, and officers secured the scene, police said.

Police announced about 3 p.m. that the person had been taken into custody. No additional details were immediately released.
