A young boy was struck and killed by a vehicle in an East Las Vegas residential area this evening, according to a Metro Police news release.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m. in front of 562 Roxella Lane, a 2022 Toyota Highlander was parked as the driver was dropping off multiple passengers at a residence.
As the driver began to make a U-turn, a 3-year-old boy ran toward the vehicle and was struck by the left front and then run over by the front tire, the release stated.
The child was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police stated.
Impairment was not believed to be a contributing factor in the collision.
