Gunner Cortez completed 11 of 14 passes for 272 yards and four touchdowns tonight for the Virgin Valley football team in a 52-20 win over host Eldorado.

Virgin Valley, who last season advanced to the state championship game, appeared to pick up where it left off — especially with rushing the ball.

Hunter Ottison had 179 yards and one touchdown on the ground, and Isaiah Frieling added 141 rushing yards and a touchdown.

“We played a lot better in the second half,” Bulldogs coach Matt Woods said. “Sloppy early, as expected. We made some adjustments in the second half.”

Chase Ottesonn had seven catches for 146 yards and a touchdown, while Jared Jensen and Cutler Crandall also had scoring grabs.
