Senior running back Hunter Moore ran for 108 yards and two touchdowns for Boulder City in a 60-0 win at Valley in the Eagles' season opener Friday night.

Chase Jappe chipped in with 52 yards and a touchdown, and lineman Caleb Ramsey-Brown had an interception and two tackles for Boulder City (1-0) as it looks to get back to the playoffs after missing last season.

"We've gotten better the entire summer," said Boulder City coach Chris Morelli. "We've got a lot of guys with no experience. We're just taking it week by week until we get to divisional play. Missing the playoffs last year, that was heartbreaking for us. So this team, their goal is to just reach the playoffs."

Morelli said it was important for his group to get on the road from the get-go. Boulder City plays three of its next four on the road with a trip to Moapa Valley set for next Thursday.

"Just to get that out of the system," Morelli said about starting on the road. "With a lot of guys that haven't played before, understanding what it takes two, three hours prior to kickoff. I'll give this team credit for just coming right out, gathering the ball and running the ball hard. All our running backs did a great job tonight."
