Mahkai Donaldson ran for close to 150 yards and three touchdowns for Arbor View in a 38-6 win over Shadow Ridge at home on Friday night.

The Aggies (2-0) were able to avoid a letdown after a 7-0 win against Snow Canyon (Utah) last week. Juice Washington, who scored the lone touchdown in that win, had 70 all-purpose yards and a touchdown, and David Washington crossed 100 yards receiving.

"Our defense is pretty stout," Arbor View coach Matt Gerber said. "It was good to see the offense get going tonight. Last week, we couldn't get out of our way with turnovers, just miscues at bad times."

Arbor View jumped out to a 17-0 lead midway through the first quarter. It was a fast start that Gerber was hoping to get from his group.

"It was a pretty dominant performance on our part," he said. "Could we have done better? Sure. We had miscues here and there, but very proud of the effort they gave tonight."

Gerber was happy that there was no letdown from his group following a big out-of-state victory. The Aggies get another one in two weeks against Mountain Pointe (AZ) as part of the Polynesian Classic on Sept. 10.

"Historically, they're a powerhouse in Arizona," Gerber said. "I know they were down last year, but from what we've heard, they've got three Division I running backs. We're excited to play this team. We're proud to be a part of [the event] this year."
