The chairman and executive director of Nevada's Gaming Control Board will leave the organization at the end of the month.

J. Brin Gibson, who was appointed to the board in late 2020, will be replaced by Brittnie Watkins.

Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak made the announcement through a news release Monday.

"I am grateful for Brin's steady leadership at the Gaming Control Board over the last two years, and his continued counsel and friendship to me," said Sisolak in a statement.

Gibson, who will pursue a new professional opportunity, said in a statement that he is "honored to have served" as chairman during a period that he said was a "critical moment for Nevada."

Gibson served as Sisolak's general counsel for a year beginning in early 2019.

Along with the Nevada Gaming Commission, the board regulates the gaming industry in Nevada.
