Foothill grabs playoff spot by beating Canyon Springs

The Foothill football team had five interceptions and a safety tonight in a 43-7 victory against visiting Canyon Springs.

Aaron Sams returned one of the interceptions for a touchdown and Izaiah Lorenzana was credited with the safety.

Offensively, quarterback Mason Dew passed for four touchdowns, connecting with Anthony Velasquez, Tarrell Mack-Lovely, Robert Parker and Devon Wake. Jahmon Haylock added a 20-yard touchdown run.

The victory gives Foothill the No. 4 seed in the upcoming playoffs and a likely first round game against Liberty.
