Freddy Rodriguez had an 80-yard touchdown reception from Jack Thow tonight for the Green Valley football team in a 50-14 victory against Centennial.

The victory gives Green Valley its second win of the season and a spot in the playoffs. If the Gators beat Faith Lutheran next week in the regular season finale, they will earn the No. 3 spot — and avoid playing defending state champion Bishop Gorman in the first round.

“Everything we want is still right in front of us,” Green Valley coach Clay Mauro said.

Thow also tossed a 60-yard touchdown to Nate Richter, while three seniors who mostly play linebacker had rushing touchdowns. Those were scored by Tyler Eenhuis, Chris Aguayo and Xavier Cross.
