The Bishop Gorman football team scored two touchdowns in the game’s initial 110 seconds tonight against visiting Faith Lutheran in a 72-0 first round playoff victory.

The defending state champion Gaels are now 6-0 against Las Vegas area teams, all of which have failed to record a point.

On the second play of the game, Micah Alejado hooked up with Elijah Lofton for a 74-yard scoring strike. And when Faith Lutheran got the ball, Palaie Faoa scooped up a fumble and returned it for a two-touchdown advantage at the 10:10 mark of the first quarter.

The final three quarters were played by the mercy rule of a running clock.

Alejado completed 9 of 11 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns, Lofton had a rushing and receiving score, and Zachariah Branch and Trech Kekahuna each tallied two receiving touchdowns.

DeVon Rice and Micah Kapanna had rushing scores.
