Marcellus Moore had two rushing touchdowns for the Basic football team in a 38-2 victory in Northern Nevada against Carson High.
The win pushes Basic’s overall record to 3-0, and in those three games, it has only surrendered 17 points. The defensive effort against Carson included a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown from Zuri Whiters.
Quarterback Joseph Garza added a rushing touchdown for Basic.
Basic has the meat of its schedule coming up, and the trip to Carson City will certainly set the table for the rest of the season, coach Jeff Cahill said.
“We wanted to take the kids out of the norm and see how they reacted,” Cahill said. “We played well. We came to play.”
