Pop-rock singer Tiffany plans a special concert and food experience at the Space

Tiffany returns to Las Vegas to perform at the Space this week.

Memorable 1980s pop star Tiffany (“I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Could’ve Been”) has always created special experiences for her dedicated fans during the evolution of her musical career. Now based in Nashville, she’s getting ready to tour behind her 11th studio album, “Shadows,” and planning a special acoustic performance in Las Vegas that incorporates another passion, food.

Chef Alicia Shevetone is collaborating with Tiffany on a special menu for a fan-focused event at the Space on February 4.

“An Evening With Tiffany” is coming to the Space, just west of the Strip near Polaris and Harmon, on February 4 at 6 p.m. VIP tickets include a menu of tapas and other light bites from local chef and cookbook author Alicia Shevetone as well as a meet-and-greet with Tiffany. The Southern California-born singer and songwriter actually lived in Las Vegas in the early ’90s, and while she has performed here steadily, it’s her first time at the versatile venue known as the home of Mondays Dark.

“Some friends in bands have played the Space recently and I love it. It’s one of those really cool spaces to be in Vegas,” said Tiffany. “Come summer, we will be really cranking on ‘Shadows’ tour dates so this is the calm before the storm. And this event is not like going to a regular Tiffany show, it’s a fan experience and a dining experience and just another way for people to get to know me. I’m really excited.”

When she couldn’t perform live during the pandemic shutdowns, Tiffany turned to other pursuits and cooking became a prominent outlet. She says it helped reconnect with family members that had passed on, and she began sharing recipes and videos online through her fan network.

Years ago she participated in the third season of the Food Network’s “Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cookoff,” so food media was a natural place to grow. “It’s a different part of my life I’m sharing with fans, and I think it’s what kept me sane during COVID,” Tiffany said.

She met Shevetone, a former tech industry executive who began a second career in culinary media in 2017 with a blog and cookbooks, through mutual friends and they started to plan this collaboration.

The chef’s brand was born out of desire to share recipes specifically for households of two — something she didn’t see in mainstream food media — and Shevetone has expanded with cookbooks based on Italian and vegetarian cuisine. She’s recently produced pop-up dinner experiences at Sahara Las Vegas.

“This is a true collaboration from a menu perspective,” Shevetone said of the concert and dinner at the Space. “We’ve had numerous conversations about the guest experience, and she’s part Lebanese with Southern roots and loves everything Mediterranean, while I have this Italian perspective and I do a lot of appetizer-based events. We weren’t interested in a full coursed diner, so we landed on a Mediterranean-inspired platter for each person with different nibbles to sample.”

Guests will nosh on grilled shrimp, harissa, hummus, tabbouleh salad and “the most pillowy, delicious pita you ever had in your life,” Shevetone said.

Next up for the chef is a new cookbook with 50 alcohol-infused recipes, coming in September. And Tiffany has a date at the Daytona Beach Bandshell in May before the summer tour really kicks in.

“My music is still pop-based, but it’s a little bit more adult-contemporary rock, if you will,” she said. “This album is really fun, pop and rock and all of it, with a little wink back to the ’80s. But this [Vegas] show, of course, is going to be acoustic, and it’s the only place you’re going to see these versions of the new songs from ‘Shadows.’”
