Two women have been arrested on murder counts after a man was found dead Monday in a Las Vegas Strip hotel room, according to Metro Police.

Metro dispatch received a report about 11:35 a.m. Monday of an unresponsive man at the resort in the 3500 block South Las Vegas Boulevard, police said.

Officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. The man, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said the victim had gone into his hotel room with two women, who fled a few minutes later with the man’s property.

Through the course of the investigation, the women were identified as 20-year-old Erika Covington and 20-year-old Arionna Taylor, police said.

A multijurisdictional task force located the women and took them into custody without incident, police said.

Covington and Taylor were booked today at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of robbery and open murder, police said.

The task force is led by the FBI and includes members of Metro Police, Henderson Police and North Las Vegas Police.
