The Bishop Gorman football team amassed 555 total yards and nine touchdowns tonight against visiting Coronado for a 63-12 victory in the Class 5A-Division I state semifinals to earn a berth in the championship game against Liberty.

Michigan commit Micah Kaapana had nine carries for 189 yards and two touchdowns, Derek Meadows had three receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns, and Audric Harris had four receptions for 86 yards and two scores.

“Offensively, we had a lot of different weapons,” coach Brent Browner said.

Micah Alejado passed for three touchdowns, including connecting with Devon Rice for 60 yards and a score.

Now, Gorman will have to wait 17 days to face Liberty. The finals are Nov. 20 at Allegiant Stadium, giving the schools plenty of time to prepare for each other.

“They are a tough team,” Browner said. “It’s tough to beat somebody twice, but we will be ready.”
