The Bishop Gorman football team scored six touchdowns on 19 plays Friday against host Shadow Ridge in a 48-17 victory.

But defending state champion Gorman only led 7-3 at halftime, as Shadow Ridge controlled the clock for most of the first half to keep the high-powered Gorman offense off the field.

The Mustangs, however, couldn’t hold Gorman down for long.

Quarterback Micah Alejado completed 11 of 13 passes for five touchdowns, and Audric Harris had three touchdown receptions to go along with 130 receiving yards.

Derek Meadows had 103 receiving yards and a touchdown, Elija Lofton had a 49-yard touchdown, and Micah Kaapana tallied a rushing score.

Gorman improves to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in league play.
