A suspect is in custody in the fatal shooting of a juvenile earlier this year at an apartment on Boulder Highway, according to Metro Police.

The shooting was reported about 6 p.m. on March 7 in the 5300 block of Boulder Highway, near Harmon Avenue, police said.

According to police, a bullet came through the wall from a neighboring apartment and struck two juveniles.

One of the juveniles was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The second juvenile was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

On Wednesday, homicide detectives identified 41-year-old Eliazar Quintero as the suspect in the case, police said. He is in custody with the Nevada Department of Corrections on unrelated counts, police said.

Quintero will be transported to the Clark County Detention Center to be booked on a warrant on a count of second-degree murder, police said.

No additional details were released.
